The State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) has put out a new podcast called 22.33 on ECA supported exchanges. We have created a discussion guide (PDF 1MB) around one of these podcast from season 1 episode 8 “Call Me Teacher.” This podcast describes Will Langford’s experience as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Kenya and the various stereotypes he encountered as an African American. Will’s memorable enlightenment about race, wealth, and language led others not only to rethink their idea of America, but to help Will find himself as well.
